Transitions Exhibition
Transitions was an exhibition created in collaboration with the Mother and Baby Unit at the Bethlem Royal Hospital. It looked at identity and the everyday, framed by the complex challenges experienced during the transition into motherhood.
I facilitated a series of printmaking workshops with mothers and staff using ordinary items from their past and present lives.
I based the workshops on my own artistic process (deconstructing, reconstructing and recycling) in order to explore the idea of breaking down what one knows/ think they know. Placing an emphasis on collaboration helped us think about how we often need the perspective of another person in order for change / transitioning to occur.
